Stewardship for God involves a number of choices. In earlier messages we’ve looked at choosing the model for our stewardship and choosing the measurement of our stewardship. In this message we look at the final choice we have to make: what will be our method of giving?
We’ll compare two Biblically endorsed methods of giving – one found in the Old Testament and endorsed by the New, and one found in the New Testament.
There is a life-changing principle in God’s Word called the Giving-Getting Principle. In this message we’ll discover what this principle is, see it illustrated a number of times in Scripture, and discover what we need to do to apply this transforming principle to our lives.
Churches need good stewardship just as individuals do. In the passage we’ll look at in this message, we’ll see an outstanding model of church stewardship – one that has served as a model for other churches for 2,000 years. It was pretty special. We’ll learn the secrets of good church stewardship as we study this passage together.
The Biblical concept of stewardship is life-changing for a Christian once he or she grasps it and starts to live by it. It about far more than money and what we do with it.
In this first of a series of messages on stewardship we define it and then examine the four choices we have about our stewardship, illustrated by people in the New Testament. At the end we’ll have a chance to choose out own personal model of stewardship.
