As Paul gives thanks for the Thessalonian Christians he shares the truth they had accepted, that the good news of Jesus is a message from God, not a man-made story. Their response to God's word in the midst of much persecution was for Paul something for which he was continually thankful. We see in this passage a picture of a model gospel message and a model response to that message.
