What makes a church the sort of church that sets an example for others? There are plenty of ideas about this floating around today and Christians would give a number of different answers to the question. Is there really a way to define what an exemplary church is today? I believe there is, and the pattern is found in a First Century church that was said to be an example to others: the church at Thessalonica. In this first of a series of messages on 1 Thessalonians we'll discover the qualities that led the apostle Paul to call this church an exemplary church. I think we'll agree that these qualities are timeless and would make a church an outstanding, if not exemplary, church today.
