Leprosy in Bible times had no cure. Only God could cure a leper. In Israel lepers were considered ritually unclean, had to live outside of towns and cities, and had to maintain strict rules so other would not become unclean through accidental contact. Some considered them as dead people.

One leper, however, decided Jesus could heal him if he was willing to. How he went about asking for this and what Jesus did in response is the story behind this message.
